Remote Audio Rainman RMANK2 Raincover with Hood

The Remote Audio Rainman RMANK2 is a rain cover for a boom mic’s windshield, sized for the Rycote Windshield Kit 2. It softens the impact of falling rain instead of soaking it up.

It is made of a soft, lightweight batting that does not absorb water or mat when wet. The fabric’s small cells let it breathe, wick moisture, and shed water. Raindrops slow down as they pass through and are channeled out the front. The outside is net material with sturdy stitching.

The Rainman slides onto the windshield with its open end at the front of the mic and closes with a hook-and-loop slot, so it goes on and comes off quickly. A waterproof hood comes with every new Rainman.

What It Fits

The RMANK2 also fits windshields of a similar size. The Kit 2 carries mics such as the DPA 4006 and 4017C, Sennheiser MKH 20, MKH 30, MKH 40, and MKH 50, and the Schoeps CMC series. The Rainman RMANK4 fits the larger Kit 4.

Good to Know

Use the Rainman without a fur cover; a stretch sock-type cover can go underneath for more wind protection. In heavy rain it can take on water faster than it sheds it, so take it off now and then to shake or wring it out.
