Remote Audio Rainman Plug-On Sleeve Covers

The Remote Audio Rainman Plug-On Sleeve Covers carry rain protection down from the boom microphone to the wireless transmitter plugged in at the end of the boom pole. The sleeve comes in two parts, a top cover and a bottom cover, and each is sold on its own.

The Rainman system softens the impact of raindrops falling on a boom microphone and channels the water away along the outside of a zeppelin-style windshield. The sleeve covers extend that protection to the plug-on transmitter and its connection below the windshield.

The covers are made of 3 mm neoprene with a 4-way stretch, so they close snugly around the handle and transmitter, and they dry quickly between takes. They fit the Rainman Lollypop handle and Cinela zeppelin handles.

To install, attach the Lollypop handle to the zeppelin and slide the top cover over the handle. Fold the top cover back to expose the threads and attach the boom pole. Tune the plug-on transmitter, slide the bottom cover on with the connector exposed, and close its hook-and-loop strap. Attach the transmitter to the flange of the Lollypop handle, then slide the top cover down over the bottom cover to seal out water.
