Wisycom PFL-R2

The Wisycom PFL-R2 is the transmitting unit of the Wisycom Portable RF over Fiber Box system, engineered for broadcast, film, and live production environments where RF signals need to travel distances that exceed the practical limits of coaxial cable. The PFL-R2 accepts two RF channels in isofrequency from a local RF source and converts the signals to optical for transport over single-mode fiber. It pairs with the PFL-T2 receiving unit to form a complete RF over fiber link. Fiber transport preserves signal integrity across distances that would cause significant degradation on coax.

The PFL-R2 is powered by a standard V-Lock battery, enabling placement at remote or elevated positions without access to mains power. A DC power input is also included, with battery power available as a backup. Internal thermal management via a temperature-controlled fan keeps the unit operating reliably even in direct sunlight. The OpticalCON Duo connector provides robust external fiber connectivity, and the side-entry internal cable management system simplifies field installation. Together the PFL-R2 and PFL-T2 offer a compact, deployable RF over fiber solution suited to large-scale broadcast productions and complex venue setups.
