Rycote SC-08 Compact Supercardioid Condenser Microphone (Stereo Pair)

Two Rycote SC-08 compact supercardioid pencil condensers form this matched pair for stereo recording in the studio and the field.

Each mic has a nearly flat response from 70 Hz to 20 kHz and 12 dB(A) self-noise. The pair comes in one hard case with two clamps and two foam windscreens.

Design

Each mic’s individually tuned back electret capsule sits in a lightweight machined aluminum body, and its preamp is machined brass for lasting RF shielding. Active in-line filtering adds to that shielding, and Rycote tested the mics against digital wireless systems and walkie-talkies.

The low-noise preamps give the SC-08 the same sound as the other mics in Rycote’s range. Each mic runs on 24 to 48 V phantom power through a gold-plated Neutrik XLR.
