Rycote CA-08 Compact Cardioid Condenser Microphone (Stereo Pair)

Two Rycote CA-08 compact cardioid pencil condensers form this matched pair for stereo recording in the studio and the field.

Each mic has a nearly flat response from 70 Hz to 20 kHz, rolling off gently below 60 Hz, and 13 dB(A) self-noise.

Design

Each capsule is individually tuned and sits in a light machined aluminum body. The preamp housing is machined brass for lasting RF shielding. Rycote tested the mics against digital wireless systems and walkie-talkies.

The low-noise preamps give the CA-08 the same sound as the other mics in Rycote’s range, so it cuts together well with them. Each mic runs on 24 to 48 V phantom power through a gold-plated Neutrik XLR.
