JK Audio RemoteMix x4 Four-Channel Broadcast Field Mixer
The JK Audio RemoteMix x4 pairs a four-channel field mixer with a four-channel headphone amplifier, so the whole crew monitors from one compact unit.
The four XLR mic inputs are low-noise, high-headroom, and active balanced. Their extremely high common mode rejection keeps cable noise out. Each has switchable 48 V phantom power, and channels 3 and 4 have mic/line switches. A switchable 120 Hz low cut filter removes room rumble and mic handling noise. The direct-drive, DC-coupled master XLR output carries 20 Hz to 20 kHz at up to +16 dBu and resists noise on the output cable.
Each of the four 1/4 in headphone outputs has its own level control and source selector, for the clean mix or the cue input plus the mix. The 1/4 in cue input brings a codec’s return to the headphones. 3.5 mm stereo line input and output jacks let you record or play back material.
A phone headset interface with a 3.5 mm TRRS plug connects to a cell phone or notebook for two-way IFB. A soft limiter keeps that interface from overdriving, while the master XLR and 3.5 mm outputs stay pre-limiter. For radio and podcasts, it serves news, sports, and live remotes as the front-end mixer for a POTS, ISDN, IP, or smartphone codec. For TV, it handles ENG, sports, and interviews.
Two 9 V batteries sit in separate compartments for hot swapping, and one or two will run it. The included 100 to 240 VAC desktop supply runs the unit while it is providing power, and the batteries cut in if the power goes out. The phantom generator runs only when a rear panel 48 V switch is on, and low-noise, low-power circuits stretch battery life.
