JK Audio RemoteMix 4 Four-Channel Broadcast Field Mixer
JK Audio RemoteMix 4 Four-Channel Broadcast Field Mixer — A four-channel field mixer, four-channel headphone amplifier, and communications interface in a rugged enclosure smaller than a lunch box. It includes a phone line hybrid with DTMF keypad, a universal PBX handset interface, Bluetooth wireless technology, and a wired 2.5mm cell phone interface, all designed to work together so a remote goes up without an engineer and a bag of patch cables.
Radio crews can use it for live remotes as a phone line hybrid or as a front-end mixer for a POTS, ISDN, or IP codec. For TV, four IFB headphone feeds with separate source selection and level controls let crews send and receive interview audio and pull IFB from a business phone or a cell phone. RemoteMix 4 first tries a Bluetooth hands-free connection to the cell phone, and the 2.5mm jack provides a hard-wired connection when Bluetooth is unavailable. Four XLR inputs carry switchable 48V phantom power, with mic/line pads on channels 3 and 4.
Bass boost adds low end before the signal goes down the phone line, and a soft limiter prevents overdriving the phone interfaces while the XLR mix output stays pre-limiter and full range. 3.5mm send and receive jacks cover recording and playback. Two 9V batteries sit in separate drawers for hot-swapping, and the included AC supply overrides them only while it is providing power. The phantom generator runs only when switched on, preserving battery life.
