JK Audio innkeeper LTD Digital Hybrid Telephone Interface

The JK Audio innkeeper LTD sends line-level audio into a standard analog phone line and returns only the caller’s voice on a balanced XLR output. It is JK Audio’s simplest digital hybrid, a companion for mixers, consoles, and PA systems that need talk show quality audio from a phone line.

The hybrid connects audio to the telephone line without the transmit and receive crosstalk common to analog hybrids. Its 16-bit DSP continuously monitors both the phone line and the audio. A proprietary auto null algorithm typically reaches more than 50 dB of separation with no setup and no noise burst sent down the line. The input expects a line-level signal, so the innkeeper LTD pairs with a mixing board or a microphone preamp.

Place calls from a telephone on the auxiliary phone jack, or from a JK Audio Guest Module on the Remote jack. Pressing Call disconnects the auxiliary phone, and pressing Drop reconnects it. Auto-answer with auto-disconnect suits IFB and monitoring, and the innkeeper LTD also handles telephone interviews, talk shows, church PA systems, and full-duplex conference rooms.

Send and caller LEDs track levels. Recessed volume controls, with no DIP switches, keep setup simple on analog lines anywhere in the world. The optional RA2 rack mount adapter holds two units in one rack space.
