JK Audio Interchange Intercom Phone Bridge
The JK Audio Interchange links a party-line intercom to a JK Audio innkeeper LTD digital hybrid, so remote callers on a phone line can join the intercom.
This half-rack interface gives the hybrid a four-wire audio connection and a remote control connection. Its front panel headset jack also connects a mobile phone, tablet, or computer, so remote crew can join over a wireless phone call or a conferencing app.
Both the hybrid’s four-wire connection and the headset interface monitor the intercom like any other belt pack, through a high-impedance bridging tap on the intercom line. A front panel switch sets talk mode to Off, On, or Auto, and Auto follows the hybrid’s auto-answer setting.
Male and female 3-pin XLR jacks connect the intercom loop and the four-wire hybrid connection, and a male XLR mix line output feeds monitoring. Setup uses send and receive LED metering, front panel screwdriver level controls, and a channel select switch. The intercom line powers the Interchange. The optional RA2 rack mount adapter holds two Interchanges in one rack space.
