DPA MMP-B Preamp with Low Cut and High Boost for Pencil Microphones
The DPA MMP-B is a preamp with low cut and high boost filters for DPA’s modular pencil microphone capsules.
It has active drive for impedance balancing and a permanent third-order low cut at 50 Hz, plus two switchable filters. On the 4017B, which pairs this preamp with the MMC4017 capsule, the switches give a 4 dB high-frequency shelf at 8 kHz and a first-order low cut below 120 Hz. Each is set by turning a ring.

About DPA Microphones Pencil Mics
DPA builds their pencil microphones from modular parts: a capsule pairs with the preamp of your choice, and the capsule moves to another preamp, active cable, or boom at any time with no tools. All DPA mics share the same sonic character, so their pencil, shotgun, and miniature mics blend easily in a mix. DPA covers their 4000 Series pencil mics and preamplifiers with a five-year warranty.
DPA designs and builds their microphones in Denmark, drawing on a history that began with Brüel & Kjær measurement microphones.
