DPA 2028 Supercardioid Handheld Vocal Microphone
Built for the demands of live stage performance, the DPA 2028 is a supercardioid handheld vocal microphone that works wired or with a wireless system.
Its supercardioid capsule has DPA’s flat off-axis response, giving high gain before feedback and natural, damped pickup of nearby instruments. Rear rejection is strong, and the mic picks up nothing at 140 to 150°, where stage monitors usually sit.
The 2028 handles the loudest singers, with 117 dB of dynamic range and a fast transient response, and its low self-noise suits softer voices too. It needs little or no EQ.
Build
The capsule is fixed on top of a shock mount designed for the 2028, with its own pop filter. The hard black chrome grille comes off for cleaning, and the wired version’s handle is zinc alloy in the same finish.
