Bubblebee Industries The Microphone Foam for Pencil Mics

The Bubblebee Industries Microphone Foam for Pencil Mics is a precision-cut foam windscreen that guards pencil and small-diaphragm condenser microphones against plosives, handling noise, boom swoosh, and light wind.

The acoustically transparent open-cell foam keeps the microphone’s natural frequency response. Use it for studio work such as orchestral recording, drum overheads, and acoustic instruments, and for light outdoor use. It fits microphones 18 to 23 mm in diameter with up to 35 mm from the tip to the base of the diaphragm vent, which covers popular models from Neumann, Schoeps, DPA, and others.

It comes in two sizes, M and XL. The XL size has a wider diameter and does more against the swoosh of fast boom swings. For heavy wind outdoors, a fur windshield is the better choice. Each pack holds one foam. Wash it by hand with mild soap and let it air dry.
