Bubblebee Industries The Microphone Foam for Shotgun Mics

The Bubblebee Industries Microphone Foam for Shotgun Mics is a precision-cut foam windscreen that protects a shotgun or small condenser mic from breath, plosives, boom swoosh, and light wind.

The open-cell foam is acoustically transparent, so the microphone keeps its natural frequency response. Use it on its own indoors and in light wind, or as the inner layer under a fur windshield such as Bubblebee’s Windkiller when the wind gets stronger. Inside a blimp the mic is better left bare: the blimp already holds the air still, and the foam would only dull the high end.

Eight sizes fit the common boom, shotgun, and camera microphones, including two big-diameter sizes, XS-BIG and XL-BIG, for wider bodies such as the Sennheiser MKH 40 and MKH 60. The Sizing tab lists the microphones each size fits. Each pack holds one foam. Wash it by hand with mild soap and let it air dry completely before use.
