Bubblebee Industries The Fur Wind Jacket

The Bubblebee Industries Fur Wind Jacket is a fur cover that slips over an existing Rycote or Cinela windshield basket for more protection on very windy days.

Each jacket is tailored to one basket, so it fits snugly without changing how the windshield or the microphone inside works. An elastic band with a stopper closes the opening, and an inner tongue keeps wind from getting in there. The jacket comes off quickly when the wind drops.

The outer layer is Bubblebee’s multi-pile faux fur, the long-pile fur of their Windkillers, with three lengths of high-density fur that slow the wind gradually. The inner layer is a non-abrasive, open material that keeps the microphone’s natural frequency response. The jacket adds little weight to the boom.

Versions fit the Rycote Baby Ball Gag (BBG), the Rycote Modular Windshield Kit 4 (WS4), and the Cinela Pianissimo. The Rycote versions are black, and the Pianissimo version also comes in chroma key green and chroma key blue for green and blue screen work.
