Bubblebee Industries Spacer Ball for Short Shotgun Microphones — Spherical light windshield solution engineered for compact condenser and boom mics. This 65 mm version has optimized weight distribution for using smaller compact condenser microphones on suspensions (such as the DPA 4018C, Schoeps Mikrofone CCM or CMC series, or the Sennheiser MKH 8000 series of microphones). Built to offer confident wind protection without compromising the natural character of your recordings. Designed for use both indoors and outdoors, the Spacer Bubble delivers a dependable balance of audio transparency, stability and control — whether you’re working on a lightweight suspension or capturing sound in unpredictable weather.

The Spacer Ball is also available in a 100 mm version that features increased enclosure volume and stronger wind resistance for more challenging environments (perfect for boom mics with a longer body or preamp, such as the DPA 4011, DPA 4015, DPA 4018A or 4018B, as well as the Sennheiser MKH 50).

Each Spacer Ball includes a long-haired fur cover, offering additional protection when windy conditions intensify, while maintaining excellent frequency transparency thanks to its multi-pile, high-density fiber construction.

Developed using the same proven materials found in the Spacer Bubble, the Spacer Ball combines a noise-free mesh exterior, a carefully tuned open-foam core and a secure, precision-made rubber base. The result is a compact, robust windscreen that preserves detail while reducing turbulence, rumble and unwanted movement around the microphone body. The SpacerBall is the perfect windscreen for dealing with wind noise or swooshing sounds caused by quick lateral movements such as boom swings.
