Ambient ATM 216 TinyMike Miniature Shotgun Microphone DSLR Set
The Ambient ATM 216 TinyMike DSLR set puts a 30 g miniature shotgun microphone on a DSLR or small HD camera, with the mounts and cables to connect it.
The TinyMike is 14 cm long with a tube 8 mm across, smaller than most pens. It covers 20 Hz to 18 kHz. Its hypercardioid pattern picks up clearly from the front and rejects noise from the sides. It needs no battery and runs on the plug-in power of the camera’s microphone input. It is made in Germany.
The set includes a Rycote InVision mount whose Lyre suspension keeps handling noise from reaching the microphone. The mount has a 3/8 in thread for a stand or boom pole, and the QBS mount fits a hot shoe. The QBS mount’s split screw spreads to lock the microphone in position, so it stays put through quick camera moves.
Two adapter cables to a 3.5 mm mini jack and the flocked ATMWS foam windshield complete the set. Sold separately, the active ATMEMP cable connects the TinyMike to a camera with XLR inputs and 48 V phantom power, and the ATMWJ fur windshield handles stronger wind.
