Both the IFB100 and the IFB option in the QRX100 transmit a mono audio channel. In the IFB100, there are two separate audio inputs that feed a mixer that goes to the one mono channel.

    thats great news
wow you should have been a comedian

we want less clutter less possibility of noise etc etc
a lot of guys work behind a cart one day and out of a bag the next from 35mm
through to red and all formats in between we’d like something that powers itself for more flexibility because thats what its all about

  3. Believe it or not, I do understand. You can only push the current level of technology so far.

In that one little box are:

2 – independent UHF receivers (4 channels total)
    1 – IFB transceiver (transmitter & receiver)

And power it with a pack of 4 AA lithium batteries.

And its job is to be able to manage TC and allow one of the camera operators to start all of the cameras, and give one sound man the ability to send audio to all of the cameras and verify each camera is actually recording what is being sent to it through independent confidence monitoring.

As I said, try doing that with … oh … :
4 – UHF receivers (for the audio feed)
1 – UHF receiver or Comtek receiver (for TC feed) OR 1 – UHF transmitter or Comtek transmitter (for the master camera)
1 – Comtek transmitter (confidence monitor)
1 – NP1 battery pack to power it all

Now … that’s a boat anchor, all for just one camera. If you don’t do a good job of taping the gear together and attaching it to the camera, it WILL make noise and it WILL throw off the camera’s balance and ease of movement, unless you put that mass of gear on a belt and hang it off of the camera man! What do you think he’ll say??????
