Sound Devices SL-2 Dual SuperSlot Wireless Module for 8-Series
Mounted on top of an 833, 888, or Scorpio, the Sound Devices SL-2 holds two slot-in wireless receivers in a dual SuperSlot setup and passes power and audio straight into the mixer.
It accepts UniSlot and SuperSlot receivers from Sound Devices, Lectrosonics, Sennheiser, and Wisycom, and the SuperSlot protocol carries up to four channels per slot, eight in all. It is the same width as the 833.
Power and Audio
The mixer-recorder powers the SL-2 and its receivers, so no external DC cable is needed, and analog or digital audio reaches the mixer through its expansion port. Built-in antenna distribution feeds both receivers, with 12 V powering for active antennas or boosters and remote control of Wisycom-compatible smart antennas.
Rear Panel
Two TA3 inputs add four channels of AES3 audio, two 4-pin Hirose outputs each supply up to 500 mA to other gear, and two MCX ports pass antenna signal to another receiver.
Receiver Control
From the 8-Series mixer-recorder you can set and monitor SuperSlot receivers, run an RF scan with a view of the spectrum, and watch transmitter battery, audio, and RF levels.
