Sound Devices Astral HH Control Rings

Swapped onto an Astral HH handheld microphone, the Sound Devices Astral HH Control Rings give the mic programmable buttons, a switch, or no controls at all.

Five rings are available, from the Control Blank, with no controls or LED, to the Control Switch, with a latching side switch and a six-segment LED bar. Each ring’s commands are set in the Astral HH Settings menu: mute, record, RF on or off, power, talkback routing, and others.

The Aux routing command tells an Astral receiver to send the mic’s audio to a different output. A musician on stage can press a button to reach the monitor engineer. A sports broadcaster can slide the switch to talk to a producer in the truck, with no lag and no second microphone.
