Rycote Softie Lyre Mount (with MHR)

Made to take the place of a camcorder’s built-in or accessory microphone clip, the Rycote Softie Lyre Mount holds a shotgun microphone 19 to 25 mm in diameter in a Duo-Lyre suspension.

The MHR in the mount’s full name stands for Mic Holder Replacement. A camcorder’s standard mic clip passes camera vibration, cable vibration, and handling noise to the microphone. The Duo-Lyre isolates the microphone from all three.

The mount screws directly onto many common camcorders using one of the three supplied sets of 20 mm metric screws (M2.5, M3, and M4). The Duo-Lyre leaves room for slip-on windshields such as the Classic-Softie.
