The Rycote Modular Windshield WS 3 Kit with XLR-5F and Connbox CB4 is a professional blimp-style windshield system for long shotgun microphones, supplied with a 5-pin XLR female Connbox (CB4) for AES digital audio output compatibility. The WS 3 is one of Rycote’s larger modular windshield bodies, accommodating the Sennheiser MKH 416, MKH 418, and similarly-sized long shotgun microphones. The fiberglass basket body provides effective wind noise reduction while the internal Lyre suspension isolates the microphone from handling noise and vibration. The CB4 Connbox provides a clean 5-pin XLR cable exit suitable for AES digital audio and microphones requiring 5-pin connectivity. Compatible with Rycote windjammer covers for additional wind protection in severe conditions. Suitable for film, television, broadcast, and location recording.
