The Rycote Classic-Softie Kit is a professional windshield and shock mount system for shotgun microphones used in ENG, broadcast, and location recording. Each kit pairs a Classic-Softie windshield with a Lyre shock mount and pistol grip handle, providing up to 40 dB of wind noise reduction alongside complete isolation from handling noise, vibration, and cable-borne noise via the patented Lyre suspension system. The Lyre elements are manufactured from a specially engineered thermoplastic that does not stretch, perish, or lose tension over time, offering more consistent and durable performance than traditional elastic band mounts. The Classic-Softie is a slip-on open-cell foam windshield with an integral fur cover, handmade in the United Kingdom. It is available in a wide range of sizes to accommodate most popular shotgun microphones. The pistol grip handle provides a secure, ergonomic hold for handheld operation and features a standard 3/8"-16 thread at the base for boom pole and stand mounting. Available in multiple sizes to suit different microphone lengths and diameters.

Please be aware that US Federal regulations qualify certain lithium batteries as “Hazardous Materials”. This qualification carries with it an additional fee of $75 if said items are transported via aircraft. Additional fees for these items are also assessed if shipping internationally. This is a flat fee and will only apply once for shipments containing a qualifying item.

If shipping within the US you may avoid this fee by selecting standard ground shipping. Otherwise we will contact you with a final shipping quote upon receiving your order.

Due to manufacturer restrictions, we may not be able to ship some or all of these products outside of North America. At checkout, all shipping prices are calculated from the US.
