Lectrosonics UMCWB Wideband UHF Antenna Multicoupler
The Lectrosonics UMCWB mounts four compact diversity receivers in a single rack space, feeds them wideband UHF signals from one pair of antennas, and powers them.
It covers 537 to 768 MHz. Ceramic filters at each antenna input cut signals above and below the passband to suppress intermodulation and noise. A low-noise RF amplifier then makes up the loss of a strip-line splitter that divides each antenna’s signal four ways. The outputs are isolated, so a mismatched or disconnected receiver does not affect the others.
The UMCWB runs on the included external 11 to 18 VDC supply, and each receiver draws power through its own auto-reset fuse. Powering every receiver from the multicoupler avoids the ground loops and AC hum that can appear when receivers run from different AC sources.
The panels and housing are machined aluminum.
The antennas must cover the full range of the installed receivers. ALP Series log periodic antennas suit the whole band, while a whip antenna works only with receivers on its own block or the blocks next to it.
