K-Tek KP14VTA Mighty Boom Carbon Boom Pole (Coiled Cable, Sidekick)
The K-Tek KP14VTA Mighty Boom is a five-section carbon pole built for a plug-on wireless transmitter at its base. It collapses to 48 in and reaches 14 ft 4 in.
It weighs 2.60 lb (1.18 kg). An internal coiled cable runs from the low-profile right-angle XLR female (KPRCF) at the top down to the KPTA Sidekick. The Sidekick has a male 3-pin XLR facing up for the transmitter and a removable rubber bottom.
Removable Headpiece
Remove one set screw and the headpiece threads off the tube, so a cable goes in or comes out without soldering.
The captive collets have a thick, smooth surface for gradual extension, and oval dimples give the collars a firm grip. The tubes are hand burnished against handling noise, and the pole is made in the USA.
