DPA 4060 Series CORE Omni Lavalier Microphone

Built around CORE, the preamplifier technology DPA introduced in 2017 to lower distortion and widen dynamic range, the DPA 4060 Series CORE mics are miniature omni lavaliers.

The series shares a 5.4 mm pre-polarized condenser capsule with a vertical diaphragm, a double-vent protection system against humidity and sweat, and a Kevlar-reinforced cable relief. Each model is tuned for a different sound pressure level or supply voltage.

The Models

The 4060 has normal sensitivity and handles up to 134 dB SPL peak, for speech and chest placement. The 4062 handles up to 154 dB SPL peak, so it can close-mic drums and brass, or sit in a car’s engine bay or exhaust. The 4063 is acoustically identical to the 4060 but runs from transmitters that supply only 3 V, handling up to 138 dB SPL peak.

Two grids tune the high end: the pre-fitted Soft Boost Grid adds 3 dB at 8 to 20 kHz, and the High Boost Grid adds 10 dB around 12 kHz for chest placement. The MicroDot versions connect to a transmitter through a DPA adapter, sold separately.
