DPA AIR1 Universal Miniature Fur Windscreen

The DPA AIR1 universal miniature fur windscreen mounts fast on lavalier and headset mics, protects them consistently against wind, and keeps the sound clear.

In two sizes, it fits any round omnidirectional miniature mic from 2.5 to 5.8 mm (0.1 to 0.23 in) across, so it works on most major brands’ professional miniatures as well as DPA’s own. Each pack holds two windscreens of the same size and color, in a choice of six colors.

Two Layers of Wind Protection

The first layer is a newly designed acoustic fur whose hair type, length, and density keep the windscreen smaller than most without losing wind rejection. The second is the air cavity in front of the mic: two sturdy arches hold the fur away from the capsule and keep the volume of air constant. A mic stop holds the capsule at the most protected point inside.

Easy to Mount

The hard plastic frame has strong handles, a large opening, and a firm clasp, so the mic goes in quickly and sits in the right place, even in rough weather.

Clear Sound

All acoustic fur damps some frequencies. A built-in boundary surface in the AIR1 boosts the frequencies the fur attenuates, so speech stays clear and sounds as if no windscreen were there, without the wind noise. The Compatibility tab lists the size for popular lavalier and headset mics.
