DPA 6060 and 6061 CORE Subminiature Lavalier Microphone
The DPA 6060 and 6061 are subminiature lavalier microphones that fit DPA’s CORE technology into a 3 mm (0.12 in) capsule. They are smaller than DPA’s 5 mm miniature capsules but fully comparable in performance, so they disappear more easily under clothing and costumes without giving up sound quality.
These mics have a lower noise floor than any other 3 mm capsule on the market. CORE lowers distortion and lets the 6060 Series capture high sound pressure levels cleanly, from a whisper to a shout.
Choosing a Model
Choose by the sound pressure level at the mic, which depends on how close it sits to the source. The 6060 has normal sensitivity (20 mV/Pa) and handles up to 134 dB SPL peak, suited to most voices at the chest. The 6061 is less sensitive (6 mV/Pa) and handles up to 144 dB SPL peak, which suits head-mounted placement in theater, where voices reach the mic much louder.
Built for Daily Use
The housing and its removable cap are stainless steel with a matte PVD coating that resists heat, impact, and abrasion. The cap clicks off for cleaning. The 1.6 mm cable has a Kevlar core and the same rugged cable relief as the 5 mm mics, with strain relief built into the housing. The mics are IP58 certified, with a water-repellent nano-coating, a hermetically sealed amplifier, and a dual gold-plated diaphragm.
Connectors
MicroLock is DPA’s locking connector. A MicroLock adapter connects the mic to most professional wireless transmitters, and MicroLock parts also mate with MicroDot parts (the lock works only when both halves are MicroLock). Hardwired versions plug straight into popular transmitters, as the table below shows.
