DPA 6388 CORE+ Directional Headset Microphone — A supercardioid headset built for stages where high ambient level, stage noise, and the need for gain before feedback all pull in different directions. The capsule sits in a physically asymmetrical housing with a shifted acoustical axis, which together with a tightly controlled proximity effect makes the 6388 far less sensitive to exact placement than a conventional directional headset. Talent can shift the frame mid-performance and the tonal balance holds.

Directionality stays consistent across the frequency range, so off-axis rejection is linear and predictable instead of coloring whatever bleeds in from the rest of the stage. Isolation improves, stage bleed drops, and gain before feedback rises accordingly. Boom placement switches between the left and right ear, letting the microphone sit discreetly beside or slightly behind the mouth, and the wide dynamic range handles a whispered aside and a belted chorus without audible distortion. The frame is a refined version of DPA’s Act headset frame, built for a secure fit and all-day comfort, and IP58 certification covers dust and humidity for touring, outdoor dates, and heavily made-up talent.
