DPA 4097 CORE+ Micro Shotgun Microphone
The DPA 4097 CORE+ is a micro shotgun microphone on a 10 cm gooseneck with a MicroLock connector, made to mount straight onto a wireless transmitter where a boom will not fit.
A supercardioid capsule sits deep inside a small interference tube under a replaceable foam windscreen. It isolates the voice in front of it, and sound from the sides keeps its natural character at a lower level. CORE+ keeps the sound clean even when someone speaks loudly or yells in a tight space such as a car, and the mic is IP58 certified.
On Set and on Location
A free-running nut at the MicroLock end of the gooseneck lets you clip the transmitter to a sun visor and aim the head at the actors. The built-in shock mount handles a moving car, the foam windscreen copes with open windows, and the matte black finish keeps reflections down. It also works as a wireless podium mic and as a light interview and voice-over mic for broadcast.
The 4097 shares the sonic character of DPA’s 4017 shotgun and 4060 and 6060 lavaliers, which saves time in the mix. MicroLock is DPA’s locking connector. A MicroLock adapter connects the mic to most professional wireless transmitters, and MicroLock parts also mate with MicroDot parts (the lock works only when both halves are MicroLock).
