DPA 4097 CORE+ Micro Shotgun Microphone

The DPA 4097 CORE+ is a micro shotgun microphone built for film, television, and broadcast production. Designed specifically for situations where a boom is impractical, the 4097 CORE+ has a slim, unobtrusive footprint and matte black, non-reflective finish that make it easy to plant in tight spaces. A free-running nut at the MicroLock termination allows the mic head to be aimed precisely after mounting, which is excellent for clipping a transmitter to a car’s sun visor and pointing the capsule toward the talent. The built-in shock mount handles movement and vibration in those same environments. IP58 certification covers water, wind, dust, heat, and cold. The mic ships on a 10 cm gooseneck, pre-assembled and ready to mount directly on a wireless transmitter via DPA’s adapter system, compatible with Lectrosonics, Wisycom, Sennheiser, Shure, Sony, and others.

CORE+ is DPA’s most advanced capsule technology, neutralizing distortion across the entire dynamic range for audio that is cleaner and more open than its predecessor. The supercardioid polar pattern delivers strong directionality and effective off-axis rejection, while maintaining consistent, natural-sounding off-axis character. So background noise doesn’t disappear, it just drops in level. The 4097 shares the same sonic character as the 4017 shotgun and the 4060/6060 lavaliers, which means less work in post when multiple mic types are in play on the same set.
