DPA 4097 CORE Micro Shotgun Microphone
Built as a plant mic for film sets and a light interview and voice-over mic for broadcast, the DPA 4097 CORE is a micro shotgun on a 10 cm gooseneck.
A supercardioid capsule sits deep inside a small interference tube under a replaceable foam windscreen. It stays focused on the voice in front of it, while background sound off to the sides drops in level. CORE by DPA keeps the sound clean and undistorted even when someone shouts, and the mic is IP58 certified against water and dust.
On Set and on Location
The built-in shock mount and the foam windscreen let the 4097 work in a moving car with the windows down. A swivel at the MicroDot end of the gooseneck lets you clip the transmitter to a sun visor and turn the mic toward the actors. The slim, matte black body keeps reflections from lights down.
The 4097 shares the sonic character of DPA’s 4017 shotgun and 4060 and 6060 lavaliers, so plant mics, booms, and lavs blend in the mix. It connects to a wireless transmitter through a DPA MicroDot adapter, sold separately.
