The Windkiller SE (Special Edition) wind protection for Tascam Portacapture X8 combines Bubblebee’s finest quality fur, design, and manufacturing standards to effectively protect your field recordings against wind noise.

On the outside, The Windkiller SE windshield features high-density, soft, multi-pile fur to gradually slow the wind down before reaching the microphone capsules of your Tascam X8. Inside, The Windkiller SE windshield uses Bubblebee’s signature transparent mesh (also used on The Spacer Bubble base), allowing the mic to sound as transparent as possible, while protecting your recordings against harmful wind noises.

This is the ideal windshield for improving wind protection on the Tascam Portacapture X8, specifically with the capsules in the AB configuration.

The Windkiller SE can be affixed around the Portacapture X8’s mic capsules using a fur strap and fastened using a push button to securely grip your X8 to keep the windshield in place and prevent wind from entering through the base, providing enhanced wind protection.

HOW TO FIT THE WKSE WINDSHIELD

With the device’s screen facing toward you, stretch the Windkiller SE over the mic capsules and pull it down as far as you can with the fur strap on the same side as the screen. Slip the fur strap away from you between the base of the mic capsules and fasten it using the push button to ensure The Windkiller SE is tightly secured around the mic capsules. The Windkiller SE holds a bubble of dead air around the mic capsule, allowing the microphone to function as naturally as possible and minimising wind interference in your recordings.
