Bubblebee Industries The Foam Wind Cover for Shotgun Mic Foams

The Foam Wind Cover from Bubblebee Industries is a black fur cover that slips over a shotgun microphone’s foam windscreen when the wind picks up. When conditions calm down, it comes off again, and the foam stays on the microphone the whole time.

Each of the six sizes, XS to XL, matches the same size of The Microphone Foam for Shotgun Mics from Bubblebee. The cover is sold on its own for owners of that foam, so no foam comes in the pack. For both pieces together, The Foam Wind Cover Kit pairs the foam and the cover in the matching size.

How It Works

On its own, the shotgun foam handles plosives, boom swish, and light wind. With the fur cover over it, the same foam becomes two-layer wind protection for windier conditions. Bubblebee’s Windkiller does that job as a one-piece fur windshield, while this cover adds the fur as a separate layer that goes on only when you need it.

Choosing a Size

The standard foams fit shotgun microphones 18 to 22 mm in diameter, and the XS and XL covers also go over the Big Diameter foams for 24 to 25 mm microphones. The Sizing tab lists the microphones each size fits, from Audio-Technica to Sony.
