NAB 2014 – Rycote Introduces the Super Shield and Super Softie
Rycote has introduced two great additions to its product line- The Super Shield and the Super Softie.
The Super Shield is a lightweight, aerodynamic and ultra-robust windshield system providing professional performance and versatility via a simple to use, “no-frills” design. The central chassis of the Super-Shield supports a range of “pods” in lengths to fit almost all location-style microphones and provides for great aerodynamic balance and adjustment of centre-of-mass balance. The integral shockmount equipped with our patented Lyre technology isolates the microphone, and together with a captive mic tail cable, significantly minimizes handling noise.
The Super-Softie is a premium slip-on microphone Windshield with Rycote’s new revolutionary 3D-Tex™ fabric covering for unparalleled sonic performance, wind-noise suppression and field durability.
3D-Tex™ contributes to amazing noise reduction by both its layered internal structure and its surface texture. It retains its acoustic properties even under adverse conditions. If 3D-Tex™ becomes rain soaked it can be squeezed out and shaken dry very quickly – if it becomes coated with dust it can be rinsed quickly without affecting its performance.
