Lectrosonics MUTE Audio Muting Switch for 5-Pin Transmitters
Worn inline between a lavalier mic and its transmitter, the Lectrosonics MUTE provides audio muting without clicks or pops.
It takes its power from the bias voltage on any Lectrosonics transmitter with a TA5M input jack, so it needs no battery of its own. An optically coupled switch mutes the audio and leaves the transmitter’s RF output untouched. The MUTE does not work with MM400 or WM transmitters.
The machined aluminum housing is powder coated. The weather-sealed toggle switch suits outdoor sporting events, and its positive action works through clothing. The anodized belt clip reverses to suit the wearer.
The supplied cable has weather-resistant vinyl boots at each end. The supplied SMKITTA5 wiring kit adds a 5-pin connector, strain reliefs, and a vinyl boot that keeps moisture off the lavalier mic’s connector. Wiring diagrams cover common 2-wire and 3-wire electret lavalier mics, among them the Lectrosonics M152/5P, DPA miniature mics, and the Sanken COS-11.
