VDB Pocket-QT Microphone Boom Pole

The VDB Pocket-QT is a six-section carbon fiber microphone boom pole that closes to 30 cm (12 in) and extends to 1.07 m (3 ft 6 in). It weighs 260 g (9 oz) with its top screw. Its short closed length suits interviews and filming in difficult conditions.

Each section locks and releases with a quarter turn of its collar. The outer tubes have a polished finish for quiet handling and a sure grip, and the inner tubes are matte black, so they do not catch the light on set. The pole comes apart by hand without tools, and every part of each section, from the tube to the clamping ring, can be repaired or replaced.

The uncabled pole comes with VDB’s quick-lock top screw and their standard heel, which can be swapped for a foam heel or a threaded aluminum heel for mounting on a stand. The cabled versions come with a VDB internal coiled cable fitted, mono with an XLR3 connector or stereo with an XLR5. Each cable leaves the pole through a straight XLR exit at the base or a right-angle XLR exit at the side of a foam heel.
