Sound Devices CD1 Cardioid Capsule

The Sound Devices CD1 is a cardioid dynamic capsule for the Astral HH handheld microphone, tailored for vocals. Each one is calibrated at the factory so that every CD1 matches every other in sensitivity and frequency response.

A patented dual-engine design, with two voice coils and two diaphragms, gives consistent polar patterns across frequency, low handling noise, and wide dynamic range.

It is built for touring, with shock-mounting and a steel grille. The CD1 Black Foam and CD1 Orange Foam fit inside it for wind protection.
