Sound Devices Astral PowerStation PSU (140W)

The Astral PowerStation PSU 140W is the multi-unit power supply for the Sound Devices Astral PowerStation Cell charger. A single Cell runs comfortably from the smaller 45W supply. Once Cells are daisy-chained together, the chain needs more headroom, and the 140W PSU delivers it. It will run up to four fully loaded PowerStation Cells in a desktop configuration. That is enough to keep a full complement of XL-B14500 and XL-B18650 batteries moving through a fast charge cycle at once. Power is delivered over USB-C, so the Cells handle intelligent distribution and charge speed management across the chain.

With the included USB-C cable, there’s nothing extra to source and nothing to lose out of the kit. Interchangeable plug adapters are included, so the same supply travels from a home base to a location shoot overseas. Production sound mixers running Astral transmitters on a feature or an episodic will appreciate feeding an entire charging bank from one wall outlet. Live production and broadcast teams get the same benefit in a rack, where the 140W PSU pairs with the Astral PowerStation Rack-mount Kit to power a stacked assembly of Cells. Content creators working with a smaller Astral kit still gain the headroom to expand as the battery count grows.
