Schoeps CMIT 5 Shotgun Microphone
The Schoeps CMIT 5, a shotgun microphone for dialogue and music, has a rotationally symmetrical pattern and unusually low coloration of sound arriving from the side.
Its directivity rises smoothly with frequency, and it handles wind noise better than a Schoeps supercardioid. The all-metal housing is light and robust, at 95 g, and the capsule resists humidity. Schoeps’ RFI Shield protects it from radio interference.
Three push buttons switch its filters. A high-frequency boost of +5 dB at 10 kHz helps speech intelligibility or makes up for a windscreen. A low-cut of 18 dB per octave below 80 Hz fights wind and boom noise, and a rolloff of 6 dB per octave below 300 Hz tames proximity effect. Each button has its own LEDs, easy to read in the dark, and the settings stay put when the microphone is switched off.
It runs on P48 phantom power and comes with a W 140 foam windscreen and an SG 20 stand clamp. Blue is the standard finish, with anthracite gray and chroma green as custom colors.
