Rycote Super-Shield Windshield Kit

The Rycote Super-Shield is a lightweight, no-frills kit for shotgun microphones, with a Lyre suspension, windshield pods, and a Windjammer, ready to use out of the box.

A central chassis carries front and rear pods sized to the microphone, balanced for good aerodynamics. The pods twist-lock on and off for quick access, and they are covered in the same laminated fabric as Rycote’s Modular windshields, so wind is calmed with almost no loss of sound.

The integral Lyre suspension and a captive mic tail cable keep handling noise out, and the fur Windjammer handles the strongest wind. Extra pods let one kit fit other microphones.

Choosing a Size

The Small kit suits the Sanken CS-1, Schoeps CMC and CMC with Cut 1, and Sennheiser MKH 40, MKH 50, and MKH 8060. The Medium suits the Audio-Technica AT4073 and BP4073, DPA 4017b and 4017c, RODE NTG-1 and NTG-3, Neumann KMR 81i, Sanken CS-2, Schoeps CMIT 5U, Sennheiser MKH 416, Shure VP82 and VP89S, and Sony ECM-678. The Large suits the RODE NTG-2, Sanken CS-3e, and Sennheiser ME 66/K6 and MKH 60.
