Rycote Modular Windshield WS 295 Kit
The Rycote WS 295 modular basket windshield kit takes shotgun microphones 210 to 255 mm long and 19 to 25 mm in diameter with a 3-pin XLR connector.
It is a shorter alternative to the WS 4 for the Sennheiser MKH 416, giving up a few decibels of wind protection for a more compact windshield. With the Windjammer fitted, the kit reaches up to 50 dB of wind noise attenuation.
The 295 mm basket of gray plastic netting surrounds the mic and its connector, and twist-lock end caps come off for access. Inside, a Lyre suspension isolates the mic from handling and cable noise and never needs rethreading.
