Remote Audio Micro Cat Miniature Windscreen

The Remote Audio Micro Cat Miniature Windscreen is a small fur windscreen that lets a lavalier mic work outdoors in the wind.

It is handmade, with a fuzzy outer layer over two inner layers of open-weave fabric. Together they stop the wind from reaching the capsule and cut wind noise while staying acoustically transparent.

Fit and Use

The elastic opening fits most lavalier mics up to 12 mm in diameter. A narrow mic like the Sanken COS-11 fits securely with its mesh windscreen in place, and the tiny Countryman B-6 works with its foam ball fitted.

It works best outside clothing, fully exposed, because a mic hidden under clothing is more likely to pick up clothing noise. A miniature screwdriver comes with it. Use it to find the opening in the elastic when you fit the mic, and keep the Micro Cat on it between uses so it does not blow away. Choose tan or white.
