Remote Audio BDSHQCS2 Hi-Q SmartCup Dual TA4 Smart and BDS Cable

The Remote Audio BDSHQCS2 lets one Remote Audio Hi-Q battery power a Sound Devices 833, 888, or Scorpio and a Remote Audio BDS at the same time.

It is the double-cable version of the Hi-Q SmartCup: the battery seats in the cup, and one cable runs to the recorder while the other runs to the BDS. Hi-Q batteries track their voltage, current, and charge cycles. The SmartCup passes that data to the recorder’s display, along with the total current drawn by everything on the BDS.

Which Cable Goes Where

Both cables end in TA4F connectors. The cable marked in red carries data and power to the recorder. The plain cable, labeled BDS Power Only, goes to the BDS. Never plug the red cable into the BDS, since that could harm the battery’s data circuit.

The SmartCup is easy to spot by its red bottom plate. The Scorpio has two TA4 power inputs. For a second battery that powers only the recorder, use the single-cable HIQCS1.
