Radius 19/22 Nimbus Slide-On Windshields

A Radius 19/22 Nimbus slide-on windshield fits a microphone 19 to 22 mm in diameter and cuts up to 25 dB of noise from light to moderate wind, while keeping high frequencies clear.

Rubber end caps fit snugly around the microphone to keep wind from getting behind the capsule. Small pepper-pot holes in the rear caps let sound through, which reduces polar pattern distortion and adds clarity. Inside is a porous open-cell foam core. The outer layer is gray synthetic acoustic fur.

Lengths run from 5 cm for pencil condensers to 18 cm for full-length shotguns, plus 41 cm and 48 cm versions for the Sennheiser MKH 8070 and MKH 816. Pick the length that covers your microphone’s slots and leaves room behind the capsule. The Compatibility tab lists the models each length fits. Nimbus windshields are made in England.
