Phonak Roger Earpiece V2

The Phonak Roger Earpiece V2 is the in-ear receiver for the Roger Earpiece System. At 18mm in length and 1.3g including its battery, it sits entirely within the ear canal and is practically invisible on camera. There are no beltpacks, no cables, and no visible hardware on talent — just a clear, interference-free audio feed delivered directly to the ear. It is compatible with any Roger transmitter in the studio ecosystem: the Roger On 2, Roger BaseStation, and Roger Touchscreen Mic.

V2 brings meaningful improvements over the original Roger Earpiece. Phonak integrated a new proprietary radio chip that improves receiver sensitivity, resulting in an operating range increase of roughly 10 to 15 feet over V1. Battery life was extended from 12 to 20 hours, making it practical for full shooting days without a battery swap. Audio bandwidth runs from 100 Hz to 7,200 Hz with a maximum output of 100 dB SPL, and the system operates completely free of the UHF interference concerns that affect standard IFB and IEM systems. For film and television productions where talent movement, continuity, and camera angles make visible earpieces a problem, the Roger Earpiece V2 is the standard solution.

Setup is handled at the transmitter via a single connect button — no frequency coordination or channel planning required. Once connected, the earpiece remains on the network even through battery changes, and automatically reconnects if it leaves and re-enters range within 30 minutes. The Roger Earpiece V2 is available in beige and brown. It uses a size 10 zinc-air battery and is compatible with Roger Repeaters for extended range on larger sets or live production venues.
