K-Tek KP18VCCR Mighty Boom Carbon Boom Pole (Coiled Cable, Side Exit)

The K-Tek KP18VCCR Mighty Boom is an 18 ft carbon boom pole with an internal coiled cable and a side-exit XLR at the base.

It collapses to 59 in (149.9 cm), extends to 18 ft 3 in (5.58 m), and weighs 3.1 lb (1.4 kg). The coiled cable (KPCK18V) ends in a Mighty Boom right-angle connector at the top, and the KPCCR bottom module carries a male XLR side exit. The top is a 3/8-16 male thread.

It replaces the K202CCR and, like it, has five sections. Its bottom section is slightly smaller than the bottom section of the six-section Mighty Booms.

The headpiece threads off after you remove one set screw, so you can change between uncabled, coiled cable, and transmitter setups without soldering. Captive collets with oval grips extend each section smoothly, and the pole is hand-burnished to cut handling noise.

For wireless use, the pole takes the KPTA Sidekick transmitter adapter. The pole is made in the USA.
