K-Tek KP10VCCR Mighty Boom Carbon Boom Pole (Coiled Cable, Side Exit)

The K-Tek KP10VCCR Mighty Boom is a five-section carbon pole with an internal coiled cable, collapsing to 38.5 in and reaching 10 ft 3 in.

It weighs 2.4 lb (1.08 kg). The cable (the KPCK10V kit) runs from a low-profile right-angle XLR at the top to a side-exit male 3-pin XLR at the bottom (the KPCCR module). The top is a standard 3/8-16 male thread, and the rubber bumper at the base comes off.

Removable Headpiece

Remove one set screw and the headpiece threads off the tube, so the cable comes out or goes in without soldering. The pole can run uncabled, with a coiled cable, or with a transmitter at the top or the bottom. The KPTA Sidekick module mounts a plug-on transmitter at the base.

The KP10V replaces the K102CCR and K202CCR Klassic poles and keeps their five sections. Its bottom tube is slightly smaller than that of the six-section Mighty Booms. Its captive collets have a thicker, smoother surface for gradual extension, and oval dimples give the collars a firm grip. The tubes are hand burnished against handling noise, and the pole is made in the USA.
