Short enough for a carry-on, the K-Tek KC88 Indie Boom Pole collapses to 28.75 in and extends to 7 ft 4 in in four sections.
It weighs 0.95 lb (0.43 kg), comes uncabled, and fits a standard Pelican 1650 or 1637 case as well as medium-size luggage. The Indie line, made of K-Tek’s proprietary carbon composite, is for filmmakers and crews working on a budget.
Anodized knurled collars give a firm grip, and the smooth tube finish lets the sections extend cleanly. The top is a standard 3/8-16 male thread. K-Tek makes the Indie poles in the USA, with repair and support in house, and sells them as a limited edition.
