DPA MMC4018 Supercardioid Pencil Microphone Capsule

The DPA MMC4018 is the supercardioid capsule of DPA’s modular pencil microphones, with a highly directional pickup and a smooth, uniform off-axis response.

Its supercardioid shape holds steady across frequency, so sound keeps the same color all around the mic, and the rear lobe heard on most supercardioids is kept small. That isolation suits booming, dialogue, interviews, and table or podium use, and the capsule works well as a spot or hanging mic over an orchestra. It pairs with any DPA pencil mic preamp, and on the MMP-ER/ES active cable it becomes the 4018ER/ES.
