DPA 4018C Compact Supercardioid Microphone
Only 64 mm (2.5 in) long, the DPA 4018C is a compact supercardioid mic for booming, dialogue, interviews, and table or spot recording.
Its supercardioid shape is frequency independent, so the sound color stays the same around the mic, and the rear lobe most supercardioids have is minimized. That keeps it well isolated without frequency-dependent peaks and dips. Low self-noise of 16 dB(A) and 12 mV/Pa sensitivity suit quiet dialogue, while 150 dB SPL peak handling covers loud sources.
The small footprint also makes the 4018C a good spot or hanging mic for orchestra recording. It is part of DPA’s modular pencil mic series, so it works with the series’ accessories.
